Our technical support heroes are here to save the day with ultra-friendly support!
So you can get back what you love doing most, please provide as much information about the problem you are experiencing.
We don’t offer landline services, as we are not running our network on copper.
We do have partnership with Vonage that can offer low cost Voice over IP Calls (the latest generation Voice calling functionality). Please refer to the add-ons page for details on how to get Vonage.
Being part of Gigabit IQ means we want to offer you the best value we can. So yes! However, our packages are really simple, we have two sets of speeds: 100Mbps for Gigabit Packages. The real value is what upgrade packages we can add to improve your experience with our FamilyGuard+ (Advanced Safety Parental Controls) & CyberGuard+ (Advanced Cyber Security). These can be added any time, or you can take our All Inclusive Package with the best value full coverage from Day 1!
We send our customers their routers once we receive confirmation of a successful install. We use tracked Royal Mail 24 hour shipping for this, so you should receive your router the next day, failing that, the day after. A tracking email will be provided to you.
All that data — a billion bits per second — means that you can do everything you already do online, but a lot more of it and at a faster pace. All of your usual web browsing and streaming will be supported, but with much higher speeds and far less congestion on your home network. That said, there are several specific uses that benefit dramatically from the new fat pipe of data that gigabit connectivity offers.
Streaming video: All that bandwidth means lag-free Netflix, even when you’re watching different shows on different devices at once. But the real improvement is that 4K streaming which uses four to five times as much data as a 1080p stream, will be just as fast, without the interminable loading and buffer times you may experience on standard broadband.
Online gaming: Anyone who has ever lost a match due to a laggy connection will appreciate the switch to gigabit speeds. With matching up/down speeds, you’ll never again need to worry about slow ping rates and spotty connections.
Immersive media: Ultra HD streaming is just the tip of the iceberg, as faster upload and download speeds make more immersive media (like 360-degree video and VR) more accessible.
Data backup: Traditionally, backing up data has been centred around local storage, like external hard drives, especially for data-heavy uses like videos. With the move to gigabit speeds, expect more cloud capability and backups that you can access anywhere, anytime.
Multiple users: Finally, the biggest reason to switch to gigabit speed isn’t to satisfy one prolific data hog, but rather several users. A family of four can max out a broadband connection quite easily with little more than a movie marathon and a round of Grand Theft Auto online, but gigabit speeds promise to support far more data simultaneously, making it possible to stream music in the kitchen, 4K video in the living room and a game in the kids’ rooms without a hiccup.
Compared to most standard broadband packages, which offer download speeds of 20 to 80 Mbps, you can expect to receive exponentially increased speeds from Gigabit IQ. As our name suggests, We’re talking up to 1,000* Mbps (1 Gigabit) or more!
The other major benefit of Gigabit IQ is that across most of our network providers download speeds are matched with upload speeds. Traditionally, you’ll get a much smaller pipe for uploading, which is part of the reason you can watch a 5-minute YouTube video in roughly 5 minutes but uploading the same amount of footage can take over an hour.
A house move is stressful enough so don’t worry about your Gigabit IQ contract. If you move to a new home where we can’t provide you service, we will terminate your contract for you early at no additional cost to you. We just need you to provide some evidence of your move.
Our internet and digital landline packages have a minimum contract period adverstised at the point of sale. For most of our broadband packages this is 24 months. 6 weeks before the end, we will drop you an email reminder to let you know options for the best price options for your renewals.
If you already have our network providers fibre in your home then it’s really quick and easy. As soon as you have ceased the service with your current provider, we can get you connected to Gigabit IQ with minimal downtime. If you do not have our network providers fibre in your home at the moment, that’s no problem, we will arrange for that installation to take place. The lead time for this is around 2-6 weeks and is usually free of charge (see our terms and conditions for more details regarding installations).
It is a common misconception that people believe they have Fibre already. Unfortunately many packages claim to be Fibre, but in essence they are copper last mile, served over legacy networks built several decades ago. Checkout our guide on the How It Works page. Gigabit IQ use Full Fibre technology from our own network that we have built as well as from other network providers. This Full Fibre is to your home, and is called FTTP (Fibre To The Premise). FTTP does not have speed limitations, and can serve multi-Gigabit networks. If you think you have Fibre from your provider, ask your current provider if you can get 1Gbps, if they say no, and the maximum speed is 80Mbps, then most likely you have FTTC (fibre to the cabinet, and copper last mile to your premise).
The easiest way to find out is by entering your postcode into our website. We can then look up your address and see if our service is available to you now or in the near future. You will have an answer in seconds. If you have any questions, please email us at query@gigabitiq.com
If you believe you have grounds for complaint regarding the quality or any other aspect of our network installation within your community, please contact us at help@gigabitiq.com or call us on 0800 254 5500 with your concerns.
If you are a BT customer, and have a BT internet email, you can keep that email address via webmail for free. If you would like advanced features you may be liable for charge from BT. Note, this is something that Ofcom has challenged BT, and we think is rip-off, and another reason to move from BT:
Why do some broadband providers charge for an email address? – Ofcom
We always advise customers to use free email applications like gmail, Hotmail, outlook etc, as those emails are independent of any service provider, and therefore you are free to move to any provider at any time without having any issues for your email address.
This is available to our business customers. A fixed, or ‘static’, IP address assigns a permanent identifying number to your connection that is unique to you. You will need a static IP address if you want to, for example:
– Run your own FTP server
– Run your own website or host your own website or domain name server
– Host online gaming sessions
– Connect to your computer from anywhere in the world via remote access.
Our Fixed/Static IP address is a chargeable service, you can add as an add-on to your package, or contact us at anytime: billing@gigabitiq.com
At Gigabit IQ we work hard to make sure our service is great however sometime unfortunately things do go wrong. We have extensive monitoring and diagnostic tools that keep a look out for any faults or outages allowing us to get on the case as soon as there are any problems. If we find a fault, we will most likely email you or text you to make you aware that we are working on the issue.
However, if you think your internet has stopped working and you have tried a restart of your router and you haven’t already heard from us, please reach out to us via email or phone. Details are on our support page. We will do our best to get you up and running as soon as possible.
Quick tip, is to check the wall unit (optical network terminal (ONT)), if it is running green with 10GE flashing green, then the fibre line is fine, and there maybe something wrong with the router. If the ONT has any red lights on it, then please contact us as that would indicate a fibre cut, and we would need to inform our 3rd party network provider.
If you have a larger house or a house with lots of brick or stone internal walls then a single Wi-Fi router can only go so far, however there are solutions. We can offer the latest Wi-Fi mesh technology to extend coverage across your home. Please just reach out to us and we can advise on your specific scenario. You can also add MESH to your package when you order. Note, we utilise Wi-Fi 6, 6e & the latest generation Wi-Fi 7 technology for the residential routers and MESH that improve coverage and speeds compared with many of the other providers.
The residential routers we provide are from Calix, who are one the world’s leading broadband vendors serving customers globally. Calix is a US company with some of the best residential gateways supporting the largest of the telecom service providers. The Calix Blast & Gigaspire ranges are Wi-Fi 6 , 6e & 7 capable. For more information, please visit: Home – Blast WiFi
We do not advise customers to use their own routers, as the we are not able to offer our Ultimate Wi-Fi service, as we do not have visibility into 3rd party systems & management capabilities. We have a powerful management platform for our own Blast Wi-Fi routers and provide customers with an excellent mobile app: Gigabit IQ to manage their home services. For features & capabilities, please visit our Ultimate Wi-Fi page.
If you have your own router or MESH, and would still like to use that, please contact us at help@gigabitiq.com, and we will advise you how to connect your Wi-Fi routers. Please note, we do not guarantee the Wi-Fi performance for customers using their own Wi-Fi Routers, MESH, or extenders.
Speed test measured from the router is the aggregate speed from the router to the Internet, while speed test measured from your mobile or laptop is limited by the device Wi-Fi performance, which is usually lower than the one supported by the router. For example, most current laptops cannot exceed a speed test of 500 Mbps even though the line rate from the router is more than 1Gbps. Furthermore distance of devices from the router or MESH also affect performance.
To get an accurate understanding of your broadband speed please use the GigabitIQ app, and follow the youtube video:
You can run our official Ookla speed test from your Gigabit IQ mobile app, see the YouTube video. Note, we do not recommend to use 3rd party apps or other Ookla sites, as they may use public servers, and will not give you the real speed that our router is providing you over your gigabit full fibre connection.
Our full fibre service brings ultrafast broadband speeds into your home, enabling you to connect more devices and have a great online experience. However, bear in mind that over Wi-Fi, you might not see the full blisteringly fast speeds as many devices are not capable of connecting over Wi-Fi at these speeds, plus other factors (like wall thickness in your home) can interfere with the signal.
If you need to connect several rooms away from your router or if your home has thick walls, we recommend using extra MESH blast routers to boost Wi-Fi coverage and ensure your devices connect on the faster 5GHz band if supported.
Try to position the MESH evenly throughout your home and away from anything that might interfere or block the signal, e.g., metal objects, large furniture, or microwave ovens. You can connect at the full speed of your ultrafast service by using a Cat 6/7 cable as long as your device has a Gigabit Ethernet connection.
For any guidance, please visit your Gigabit IQ app which will help you get the best of your connection, or see the videos on our YouTube page.

Yes, Gigabit IQ Business Wi-Fi is designed to replace your current router with a Wi-Fi system that provides greater internet connection and reliability throughout your business.
Yes. If you are having trouble getting Wi-Fi when you are not in the same room as your wireless router, several eeros that mesh together in a system will enable you to get Wi-Fi coverage throughout your business. Because thicker walls make it more difficult for Wi-Fi signals to pass through them, you may need more eeros to cover your business.
TrueMesh is an eero technology that allows eero systems to adapt to customers’ usages and needs to optimize Wi-Fi connection.
